KW automotive is expanding Street Comfort product line: Market launch of KW V3 leveling suspension kits

KW automotive offers the right suspension for every demand. In recent years, KW has developed more than 16 different damping technologies and a variety of suspension innovations for the entire aftermarket industry. The new KW Leveling suspensions benefit from a separate adjustment option in compression and rebound stages. These new kits made of stainless steel focus on sporty ride comfort on poorly maintained roads. KW Leveling suspension kits are the ideal coilover kits for frequent drivers, which use their cars mainly in metropolitan areas and conurbations with numerous speed bumps or in places where the traffic infrastructure is in poor condition. Accordingly, KW leveling suspensions feature damper adjustments and more suspension travel. Depending on the vehicle model, they offer subtle raising or lowering for more or less ground clearance. The suspension kits will be available primarily for mid-size vehicles. More at

KW leveling suspension kits provide the ideal option for drivers who are not looking for maximum lowering but want to achieve the driving dynamics and ride comfort of a KW coilover suspension combined with near-original stock ground clearance. Compared to a sports suspension kit, the new KW V3 Leveling suspension kits feature dampers with multi-valve technology. They can be adjusted individually in the compression and rebound stages. The suspension kit feature the option of discreetly leveling the ground clearance manually.

In metropolitan regions in Asia and South America, sometimes main traffic roads are poorly maintained than in Central Europe. There, almost every intersection in low-traffic zones has speed bumps. In these markets, drivers of mainly mid-size and upper mid-size sedans vans, want aftermarket suspensions that offer similar driving dynamics and yet are as comfortable as a KW V3 coilover suspension. Due to the road infrastructure in these markets, there is not much interest in a maximum lowering in these markets as with the well-known KW coilovers.

"The focus of the KW V3 leveling kits is sporty ride comfort and increased handling on poorly constructed secondary roads and traffic routes with numerous speed bumps," says KW Brand Manager Jonas Ehrmann, describing the new KW V3 leveling suspension kits for cars such as the Audi A4, Audi A6, BMW 3 Series, BMW 5 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Mercedes-Benz E-Class and Vans as Mercedes-Benz Vito or Toyota Alphard. KW automotive consistently focuses on suspensions for its road applications on shocks which can be adjusted separately in compression and rebound damping. With the rebound click adjustment, a bypass channel in the valve with 16 clicks can be opened or closed. This affects how quickly the chassis rebounds during load changes when the springs are compressed, among other things. With twelve clicks, the diameter in the lowspeed compression valve can be reduced or increased to further tune the damping.

The adjustable low-speed compression damping has a precise influence on body roll during cornering and pitching behavior during braking and acceleration. The damping on long bumps is also affected by the low-speed compression damping. "Dampers that are independently adjustable in compression and rebound offer significant added value," says KW Brand Manager Jonas Ehrmann. "In addition to the option of being able to adjust the suspension setup to your own driving feel, suspensions with multi-valve technology damp much more harmoniously." With the KW V3 Leveling suspension kits, a discreet lowering or raising can be continuously adjusted depending on the vehicle model. The tested adjustment range of the trapezoidal thread on the suspension struts and rear height adjusters is 0 - 20 millimeters for the BMW 5 Series sedan (G30); while the Mercedes-Benz Vito, on the other hand, can be raised by 5 millimeters or lowered 15 millimeters on the front axle. The longer spring travel of KW Leveling suspensions also allows the suspension manufacturer to use progressive main springs with ride comfort-oriented spring rates. The entire basic setup of the suspension is also designed more for ride comfort, without negatively affecting handling. The target group for the leveling suspensions are regular drivers who mainly drive in metropolitan areas and have a keen interest in sporty ride comfort. More at
